“You are the biggest mistake of my life Khushi Kumari Gupta, kash mai tumse kabhi mila hei na hota..”

She closed her eyes remembering that and suddenly started to feel uneasy.. She dint feel like getting up, yet could not find any comfort in sitting.. She was suddenly going hyper, she was not able to think anything.. She got up and took steady steps towards her room..

Khushi climbed the stairs to her room holding the support of the stair case grill.. His long lost anger echoing in her ears.. He will hate her now.. He will no more love her.. She is the reason his Di is suffering again! He wont be there for her now.. She is the biggest mistake he committed, right?

Khushi reached her room and fell on the bed to sit there.. Her throat felt a lump before her eyes filled up.. Her heart was beating unsteadily, and her breathing was coming in breaks.. Sweat dripping from her fore head and she realized where she was standing today..

 Hospital..

Out Side the Operation Theater..

Nani and Mama were sitting outside the Operation Theater.. Mami was supporting Arnav to stay strong.. Arnav knew now that Anjali was having complications beforehand and he became ASR on his family..

Mami-Arnav beta, listen to me.. It was Anjali’s decision..

ASR-Leave me alone Mami..

ASR gritted his teeth.. He was not at all happy with Anjali’s decition and his Mama, Mami and Nani supporting his Di.. How can they? He closed his fists and his Red Eyes too.. Flaring his nose, he jerked Mami’s hand again from his shoulder, and replied with a tight tongue..

ASR-Even if it was Di’s decision, was I not supposed to be informed? I had the right to know.. Dint I? Di is racing between life and death today and I swear, if anything happens to her, I wont take it in a cool way.. GET THAT u all..

He dint care about the baby Anjali wanted.. He was just wanting his Di to survive.. She was not only his mother, but also his father.. How can Anjali Di Hide such a Big thing from him? Were everyone meant to build secrets for him? He was done waiting and he stood up to Bang the Operation theater Door.. Mamaji rushed behind him and held him..

Mama-Arnav, beta what are u doing? Control urself..

ASR jerked his Mama’s hands away too, and gave a stare to him not caring how much elder he is to him.. Pointing his index finger at his Mama in anger, ASR gestured him to stay away..

ASR-Don’t stop me Mama.. I know either the baby or the mother can be saved and u know what I shall obviously choose.. One baby is already dead, and I know the other wont survive either.. Dammit! Its was just the start of her 7^th month pregnancy Mama.. And I wont let the Doctor choose now.. He has to, HAS TO Save my Di..

Mama-Arnav calm down.. All is in His hands now.. God will do all good.. Control urself, plz..

NK came and pulled ASR away from the O.T. and made him sit besides Nani who was almost numb now.. She knew it was useless thinking to regret now.. She should have taken the decision wisely before and stopped Anjali from continuing this Pregnancy.. But.. Anyway..

Nani felt Arnav sitting besides her and looked at Him.. She could not meet his eyes who had leaned back on the wall closing his own eyes.. Nani sobbed softly looking the other way and the doctor opened the Operation Theater to come out.. The family stood up as he came towards them removing the green mask from his face and looking up after sighing..

RM.. ArShi Room..

Things had been changing so much positive lately.. Khushi had started to feel that ASR was changing to Arnav now.. She had been witnessing the positive side of Him, The Arnav inside her husband..

She surrendered to him, confessing him Her Biggest Secret, Their Biggest Secret.. She feared now why she told him about this.. She was scared of ASR very much since the day she met him, and could not gather any more strength to face ASR now..

Khushi made up that ASR will again blame her for Anjali’s state and this time she would break down IF he repeats those words again.. She had suffered enough inside her, keeping so many things inside her and trying to be a sacrificing model which she always was..

Khushi was standing near the closed closet and besides it was a Calendar hanging on the wall.. Her eyes fell on the date and she closed her eyes pressing a hand on her chest..

She should have left this Place the day he told her that he Regrets meeting her.. She should have never stayed back.. Yes, she would be tagged the reason being behind Anjali’s situation IF anything happens to her and that would be worst for Khushi to bare..

She remembered the day she found out she was pregnant, and was going to tell her husband about the same..

*Flash Back*

How happy she was.. Khushi was blushing whenever he was around, her Arnavji.. She stole his glances whenever he was on phone with Aman or who so ever, or when ever he was working on Laptop or doing anything else.. She was so happy that day, may be the most happy till now.. She was recollecting her and her husband’s stay in the Hut, when their Love came into Realization and they both submitted to their long lost Confession and she ending up Being His in everyway that night.. She never regretted that night which made her completely his.. That would stay forever in her memory, as the Best Night of her Life..

And having enough of going Red, she felt his eyes on her and blushed turning her back at him and went away to give Anjali Di her medicines, forgetting she should have avoided going close to her.. To add on, Khushi passed her advices to Anjali, which were all meant with soft feeling, but unintentionally reminded Anjali of the Fake Beauty of her past and she (Anjali) eloped to the Hospital and tried to harm not only her babies but herself too..

That night, Khushi thought to stay quiet about her pregnancy as a lot had happened that day.. But knowing once that Anjali was safe and home, she just could not stop herself and went to Arnav, who in return gave her the worst ASR treatment in his anger and puked fire at her which left her scattered and lonely..

He regretted meeting her? Arnavji regretted meeting her? Khushi decided to leave..  

She packed her luggage and was leaving when ASR came back to the room and stopped her..

Khushi-Arnavji, let me go.. Its better I leave..

She told she is leaving as he does not wish to see her anymore and the next words he spoke ripped her heart apart..

Arnav-Nahi, tum nahi jaa sakti.. PAUSE.. Bhul gayi? Contract Marriage ki hai humne.. Jab tak yeh Contract pura nahi hota, tum yaha se kahi nahi jaa sakti.. (U cant leave.. If u forgot, u cant leave this place until our Contract Marriage ends..)

Did the contract still matter to Arnav? She thought he too loves her, does he not?

If only the contract meant all to him, then that meant, the night which they spent in Love was just an attraction for him, or was it Love which ended today when he yelled on her saying he regretted the day she came in his life?

If so, she wont tell him about the Life he gifted her, which was presently growing inside her, the only proof of her love which she showered on him by finally submitting him who was her everything now..

If only he had not forced her to stay back in the name of their CONTRACT MARRIAGE, Khushi would have left RM a month back..

*Flash Back Ends*

Khushi gasped as her eyes Fell on today’s Date.. She remembered on which terms she agreed to stay back.. 13 more days and she will have to leave this place and her husband forever..

She had started to feel his care and concern towards her lately.. She knew he was turning towards her lately, for her.. She felt his love in the small things he did for her..

Letting her eat his Daebetic Chocolates.. Not yelling on her for spoiling the house and cleaning the mess she created everywhere, be it kitchen or their room.. His helping her out in many small things and his putting up with her sleeping positions and so much more..

Today during the picnic when her tongue slipped and asked him to prove his love for her, she remembered how he replied His Love stays in Her, and that’s it!

She knew he loved her, right? Ya.. He loved her, and she knew he too knew she loved him..

But now, after being with Arnav for quite a while and getting showered by his love, his care, his warm shelter, if she has to face ASR all again, that would be something she wont be able to put up with.. NO.. She cant imagine him being angry on her again, not after seeing his Caring Side for her..

She dint wish to steal all his Love for her, BUT, if Arnav will blame her for His Di’s condition, she wont be able to take it, not now.. And particularly from Him.. The Raizada’s accusing her would still matter less to her, but IF ASR speaks those words again at her, she would die then and there.. NO.. She cant take this..

Gupta House..

Buaji came to know about Anjali and called Shashi and Garima who were somewhere in South India for Shashi’s treatment..

Buaji-Hello Garima.. PAUSE.. Ya, I am good.. Shashi babua is better? PAUSE.. Okay.. U take ur time.. Erm.. I called to say that I wont be able to come there.. PAUSE.. Coz - -

Buaji told about Anjali’s critical situation to Garima..

Garima-Hey DM! But Jiji, who told u this?

Buaji-Nank Kishore babua called.. I really wish all falls good.. Poor girl has already seen much hard time.. If Anjali’s life falls at place, I promise to go to Chaar Dham Yatra.. After all, she is also like our daughter..

Garima-Yes. Hope all falls in place soon.. Keep me updated Jiji.. I am going now.. Its His (Shashi’s) excercize time.. Good news is that he is getting better..

Buaji-That’s really good.. Okay, u go.. I will keep u updated..

RM.. ArShi Room..

Her insecurities had started to take birth again.. They were growing by each passing moment..

What would Arnavji do now? What would she do IF he throws her out of his life after this Contract Marriage ends?

She was feeling Hot, Anxious, Breathless, Numb..

Last time too he yelled at her, and he meant that.. His unconscious mind had that thought which came out in his angry and she came to know he felt her at fault for Anjali’s condition.. NO, not again!

If today he thinks that again, then? NO.. How will she explain she was never at fault? Nothing was done intentionally.. How will she make him understand Anything, if he behaves in an ASR manner again?

She was loosing her senses and her world was moving around.. She fell unconscious on the ground with no more strength left to stress her veins.. The worst part was, that no one was around to help her get up.. Her eyes closed and silence covered the Room..

Hospital..

Out Side the Operation Theater..

Arnav stood up trying to be calm.. Going near the Doctor and seeing his face fell Down, Arnav composed himself to take the news whatever.. Other Family members came near the doctor too..

ASR-Doctor? Tell me..

Doctor looked up at the expecting faces and looked down again.. He started..

Doctor-Look Mr. Raizada.. U know the first baby girl born could not survive.. It was obvious that due to the complications and all, erm.. *Sigh*.. Above that, Anjali fell on her stomach that forced the complications further and - -.. I know its not easy to cope up with the news am going to give but, plz be patient.. I would like to tell u straight, that the second baby born is a boy, and has survived..

There was a pool of happiness in the Family’s hearts, the second baby made it! But then what about their Anjali? She was safe, right?

Mami-Doctor the baby is fine na? It is okay? I mean its 3 months pre mature and - -

Nani-And Anjali? Baby, and Anjali? How are they two?

ASR was just silent, waiting for the doctor to speak..

Doctor-Yes.. Its alive.. Baby is okay for now.. And Anjali is fine too.. But..

ASR-BUT? But what doctor? SPEAK UP WILL U?

Doctor jumped at ASR’s voice.. He took a breathe and spoke..

Doctor-Mr. Raizada, plz.. This is hospital..

ASR-Then speak up.. Plz.. Tell us..

Doctor-Actually the thing is.. Anjali is fine.. She is asleep right now.. She will survive, I can guarantee it..

ASR’s eyes shined.. He held on to the doctor’s shoulders tightly and looked down shutting his eyes when..

Dotor-But the baby, its too - - too weak.. I mean, it is a fully developed, yet not too strong.. Its pre mature, and we can only pray it survives.. The chances are less, but there are..

Arnav left the doctor and went to sit on the visitor’s chair.. The doctor continued..

Docotr-If the next two months are stretched anyhow, we can assure the baby will grow normal too, but until then, nothing can be said.. Its not sure the baby will make it up or not.. All we can do is take our best care.. It needs to be kept in the incubator for at least 15 days from today.. Maybe more.. Just pray he survives..

The Raizada’s seemed to be smiling seeing a ray of hope.. ASR was the most relieved, his Di was fine.. And the Raizada’s would help their Anjali in each step to raise her baby.. Mami rested her head on Mama’s chest and cried in peace.. Nani had NK’s shoulder to cry her relieved tears.. ASR was just numb.. He was at rest too, yet had no expressions to pour.. All sighed..

The Doctor smiled.. He went near Arnav and put his hands on ASR’s shoulders and pressed the same making Arnav look at him..

Doctor-Don’t worry.. Keep the faith.. The baby boy seems to be a fighter.. He made it today is one of the best miracles I have seen.. Just pray to God and keep the faith going.. I guess the baby is meant to live.. We will also try our best.. Experts shall be contacted soon.. PAUSE.. Baby shall be kept in the incubator.. U can see him later.. Anjali is resting, u can meet her later too.. I guess now u all can go home.. Its better not to keep this place crowded..

The doctor left saying that and there was silence for sometime..

 Mama and Arnav decided to stay back.. A while passed.. And the atmosphere felt better too.. Arnav was still not done dealing with Nani, Mami and Mama for playing with his Di’s life, but that shall be seen later..

A little more while passed..

NK-I gotta go and do the packing.. I mean its almost done but, ya.. My flight is tomorrow so.. I really wish to stay but - - I am really sorry Masi.. Nannav, plz forgive me..

NK looked down thinning his lips.. He was sorry indeed.. Arnav stood up to face NK..

Arnav-Hey! I - - I am sorry to NK.. I should not have yelled on u like.. And ya, one more thing.. Don’t leave with this regret.. Whatever happened was meant to happen I guess.. Its NOT anyone’s fault but.. (looks at Mami and Nani..) If only I knew about Di’s situation, I would have tried to stop all this.. But Di and her baby is fine, at least one hope she has to Live now.. U can leave NK.. And I am sorry again.. Do come back soon, Khushi will also be happy..

The family smiled as Arnav and NK smiled and shared a hug.. Suddenly Arnav remembered..

Arnav-Khushi!

He broke the hug and looked behind..

Arnav-Mama, can u plz stay here for a while? I will come back soon.. I have to see Khushi.. Nani, Mami, u can come too..

Just then a nurse came..

Nurse-Patient Anjali is gaining conscious.. U two ladies can go and SEE her if u wish.. But only see her, NOT meet her.. She needs rest..

Nani and Mami were happy.. They nodded and followed the Nurse to see their daughter.. NK and Arnav left for RM, while Mamaji went down to the reception to know about the Bills and further procedure of keeping Anjali and the Baby..

RM..

NK and ASR reached RM..  NK directly went in the Guest Room in which he had been staying, and started his packing.. Most of it was already done..

He put his ear-phones and started his I-Pod to listen to some Pop-Music at a really loud volume, while doing his last minute Packing..

Arnav went UP directly to his room with a faint smile on his Face.. He was not really that happy, still, he was not that angry at least.. His Di was okay, and she delivered a baby boy, he was calm, and contented.. That was a silver lining for today.. He had no other option than to go with it..

He wanted to pass this good news to Khushi, as he knew she was tensed.. He read her tensed expressions on her temple back in the hospital today.. Least he knew, Khushi already knew about Anjali’s first baby which Arnav had thought to hide, not wanting to make her feel sad as it may affect her mind.. He dint want to stress her more.. She already was..

ArShi Room..

 It was not night yet, just late evening.. Still, Arnav found the room really Dark when he entered..  Khushi was scared of the Dark.. Then why were there no lights? He was confused.. The power was On.. Where was Khushi? She was supposed to be here only.. She was supposed to rest, why else did he send her back?

He looked around and not able to make out anything, and so he went near the switch board and switched ON the lights.. He turned around casually to locate his wife and his breathe stopped..
